High School Dances and Proms Performed by Party Time Productions
Have you noticed a decline in the number of students attending the school dances or leaving the prom early?
When asked why the simple answer directly from the students was the poor choice in the entertainment, they
didn't have fun and found the dance boring. "The DJ didn't play the songs the students wanted to dance to
and the school had too many restrictions."
Due to the lack of funding or participation by the students many schools naturally choose the cheapest DJ that
they can find. Often these low discount DJs are unskilled, untrained and the least experienced DJs a company
has to offer. Without the talent and skills needed to entertain a large room of young people they end up
"just playing music" without the knowledge needed to keep a room entertained.
What Party Time Productions tries to do is find a level common ground between the students, the school
administration and the parents so that everyone is happy.
The system I will use has a proven record with many of the DJs in the Midwest Association of Professional
Disc Jockeys (mapdj.com) to attract more students to attend the dance and stay longer while having fun and
dancing to the music that everyone agrees upon.
What I will do (this is mandatory to hire Party Time Productions) is to hold a minimum of two meetings with
the students, the school officials and the parents together so that everyone has a chance to sit down and
discuss their concerns, needs and ideas about the dance face-to-face.
We talk about what the students would like, what the schools administration will allow and what are the concerns
of the parents. Together we will work on a plan that everyone will accept and have set rules to follow and what
the consequences for breaking the rules will be.
We will create a play list of songs that the students would like to dance to which the parents and school
administration will allow.
We will create an atmosphere of fun and excitement that will bring in more students and keep them there longer
dancing the night away and just having FUN!
This system will take some time to complete so it is best to plan ahead and book Party Time Productions several
months prior to the event night.
Party Time Productions requires the following to perform at a school dance event or prom:
- To complete the scheduled meetings involving a group of students, representatives of the school administration and a group of the concerned parents.
- I will only work with ADULT Personnel when it comes to the PTP Entertainment contract. Students are not allowed to sign legal papers such as the service agreement. I typically will not discuss rates with students or quote them a price over the phone or by e-mail.
- A stage for DJ set up. 16 feet across by 8 feet deep and no more then 24 inches off the floor. If staging is needed for other items, it must be on a separate stage from the DJ set up area.
- The school must provide an adequate number of ADULT supervision for the number of students taking part in the event. (Minimum of 1 adult for every 30 Students) PTP will be busy programming music and entertainment and can not act as a chaperon for the event or take any responsibility for behavior problems of the students.
- A total of two (2) Adults supervisors to stand on the side of the stage (one on each side) to keep under observation the stage area, the DJ equipment and any students that may try to cause trouble for the DJ. and then to quickly handle any situation that may arise. They may also be used to help facilitate portions of the show.
- A $200.00 deposit is due upon the signing of the service agreement with the remaining amount due seven (7) business days prior to the event. (See contract for complete details)
- PTP will need a designated locked & secured area for cases, storage crates and DJ equipment not used during the show. It should be close to the performance area for simple retrieving of items at the end of the evening. It also needs to be available (unlocked) immediately after the show for the load out.
- Depending on the exact location of the dance area, PTP will need a minimum of three (3) hours for the set up of the equipment. More time may be required in the case of a more difficult location and/or weather situation. PTP equipment is large and on wheels making it not staircase friendly. We will need as easy of access as possible to load in/out and set up.
Pricing For High School Dances & Proms
Dance Music/Entertainment:
Monday - Friday Nights: 2 Hours: $695.00
Monday - Friday Nights: 3 Hours: $795.00
Saturday Nights: 2 Hours: $795.00
Saturday Nights: 3 Hours: $895.00
Additional Dance Music/Entertainment: $125.00 per Hour.
Customized Background Music: $50.00 per Hour.
Light Show and Sound System included.
A mileage charge will be added to locations further than a 25 mile radius of my
office in Lakeville, MN. (See price page on web site or ask Jeff for amount)
