Small Business of the Year Award 2004 ~

August 2004: Jeff Richards was presented with the Small Business of the Year Award from the Twin Cities North Chamber of Commerce President Shannon Meyers. The Award ceremony was held at the Majestic Oaks Golf Course in Ham Lake, MN. This was Jeffs first time being nominated in this Chamber. This was the second time in 2004 that Jeff was honored with a Small Business of the Year Award from two separate Chambers of Commerce.

In-Home Business of the Year Award 2004 ~

On Tuesday May 25th, 2004, Jeff Richards, Owner/Operator of Party Time Productions, was presented with the award for "In-Home Business of the Year" by the Metro North Chamber of Commerce. This was the fourth consecutive year nominated for this honor for Jeff and Party Time Productions.

At a noon luncheon with hosts Todd Walker and Jean Golden, from the TV show "Million Dollar Idea", and a group of about 100 guests and dignitaries, Jeff was presented with a beautiful plaque for his work as an outstanding Disc Jockey and member of the chamber and community.

It's party time for Party Time Productions

Jeff Richards is named In-Home Business of the Year award winner by MetroNorth Chamber of Commerce

When Jeff Richards graduated from Blaine High School back in 1981, he knew it was time to get what he calls a "real job".

So he filled out an application and was hired to work for a local company. Day after day, he toiled at his "real job," but didn't really believe it was his life's calling.

Richards danced to the beat of a different drummer, one that echoed the animated music that celebrates life's milestones. So, he put that beat to work, volunteering as disc jockey for family and friends as they marked birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, graduations and other of life's victories.

After a decade spent squeezing part-time disc jockeying into full-time working hours at his "real job," Richards decided it was time to devote full time to his heart's desire. He deposited his life savings into his dream, buying all professional-grade equipment and opening Party Time Productions.

That decision, said Richards, is one he has celebrated over and over as he provides the music and the energy for celebrations around the area.

May 25, Richards' celebration extended to the Tournament Players Club where he was presented with the MetroNorth Chamber of Commerce In-Home Business of the Year award at a chamber luncheon there.

The In-Home Business of the Year award came after Party Time Productions had been nominated for the award four consecutive years in recognition of his work providing disc jockey entertainment at weddings, company parties, and other galas, and karaoke events.

Days after being recognized with the chamber of commerce award, Richards juggled gigs at graduation parties, galas for local corporations, and congratulatory cell phone calls while setting up for a wedding reception.

"I'm doing what I love, and to be honored this way-this is great," Richards said while positioning more than two dozen lights, four CD players, a speaker system and amplifiers in the reception hall.

According to Richards, Party Time Productions is equipped with "the biggest set-up in town."

And, he said, "I do more than just stand in the corner and play music. I give you music and dance -I give you the whole entertainment package."
