Exceptional Disc Jockey Entertainment About Jeff Richards and Party Time Productions
Jeff Richards has been entertaining large groups of people since the age of 8 when he first plugged two turn tables and a microphone together to create his own DJ radio show for the neighborhood kids. In junior high he also performed many times as a ventriloquist and comedian. In high school he progressed to doing stand-up comedy and impersonations. Jeff wrote, directed and starred in two variety programs fund raisers for the high school theater department. After high school he has performed for renowned impressionist Frank Gorshin and has performed with world famous impressionist Rich Little on a local television program. Jeff was a regular at the Comedy Cabaret in Minneapolis where he performed with comedians like Louie Anderson, Rosanne Barr & Scott Hanson. In the mid-80's Jeff won an award for his one hour comedy special he produced and performed on a local cable channel. Being a Disc Jockey/Entertainer has been a part of Jeff's life since he was a young boy. Like most DJ's he worked a full-time job and performed receptions and other events on the weekends. In 1997, Jeff decided it was time to give up the corporate job struggle and become a full-time DJ. Jeff is one of very few FULL-TIME PROFESSIONAL DISC JOCKEY's in Minnesota. He has been awarded "Small Business of the Year" as well as "In-Home Business of the Year" from the Metro North Chamber of Commerce and the Twin Cities North Chamber of Commerce. Jeff also enjoys writing a monthly column for the Disc Jockey News, a national newspaper for and about Disc Jockeys. In 2001, Jeff joined the Midwest Association of Professional Disc Jockeys (MAPDJ). In 2003, he became the chairperson of the Standards and Ethics Committee developing the Standards and Ethics for the MAPDJ. The Association created an Executive Board of Directors to oversee the individual chapters of MAPDJ which Jeff was elected as Vice President. In November of 2005 at the annual MAPDJ convention he was re-elected to a 2-year term as Vice President of the Executive Board of the MAPDJ. At that convention Jeff also held his own personal seminar entitled "BE THE SHARK" a seminar to help DJ's change from part-time to full-time DJ/Entertainers and give up their "day" jobs. In 2006 Jeff Spoke at the Northern Disc Jockey Convention where he presented his seminar entitled "To Be or Not To Be Professional" educating DJ's on what qualifies them to becoming a "professional" and not just a "hobby" Disc Jockey.
